# Amazonbot

Amazon says Amazonbot is used to improve products and services, to give customers more accurate information, and that it may be used to train Amazon AI models. The page says each of Amazonbot, Amzn-SearchBot, and Amzn-User is an independent setting, and that a change may take about 24 hours. Automated crawling by these user agents honors allow and disallow, does not support crawl-delay, and respects the noarchive, noindex, and none robots meta tags. Amzn-SearchBot and Amzn-User are different tokens.

- Operator: Amazon
- Kind: training
- robots.txt: obeys. The vendor says this crawler obeys robots.txt on automatic crawls.
- HTTP user-agent: Mozilla/5.0 AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko; compatible; Amazonbot/0.1) Chrome/W.X.Y.Z Safari/537.36 Amazon calls this an example. Chrome/W.X.Y.Z is the placeholder printed on the page, not a version Botcard observed.

## JSON

`curl -s https://whosthatbot.com/v1/crawlers/amazonbot`

## Check this token

tools/call with name check_robots is the same check at https://whosthatbot.com/mcp. Send `Content-Type: application/json` and `Accept: application/json, text/event-stream`. The pasted file disallows Amazonbot on `/docs` and allows `*`. The call does not fetch a host.

```
curl -s https://whosthatbot.com/mcp -H 'content-type: application/json' -H 'accept: application/json, text/event-stream' -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"check_robots","arguments":{"robots_txt":"User-agent: Amazonbot\nDisallow: /\n\nUser-agent: *\nAllow: /\n","path":"/docs","ids":["amazonbot"]}}}'
```

That call returns fetched_target false. This row is disallow via group Amazonbot, rule Disallow: /.

Each card paraphrases the linked vendor page and was checked on source.retrieved. This is not legal advice. robots.txt is a request from the site owner. Botcard does not fetch third-party sites and does not suggest ways around a disallow rule.
